There’s lots of little scientists running around ESF this week! Today, campers participating in the Science Explorations course as a part of The Center for Growth and Innovation (CGI) are learning all about water.
With the help of CGI Counselor Mrs. R, campers are exploring all of the forms and phases of water as both a liquid and a chemical combination. In its simplest form, campers have learned that water can be used for much more than just simply hydration. Campers explored how water can help create and conserve energy through inventions such as a water mill. They also looked at how water breaks down as a chemical and how the hydrogen and oxygen within the substance reacts with other particles like soap and pepper.
These little scientists are getting their feet and their hands wet today!
- CGI Counselor Mrs. R. wrote a note to each of her scientists to start the day.
- A camper measures a small cup of water.
- Campers experiment how a water mill works.
- Little scientists fill petri dishes for an experiment.
