Mise en Place

DSC_0069Calling all campers for a week of crazy-delicious food experiments and cooking! For five fun-filled days, campers will experience a world of hands-on culinary exploration with their fellow peers and experienced Vetri Chefs.

Today’s lesson covered some of the very fundamental tools that a chef needs in a kitchen such as basic knife skills, how to read and follow a recipe, measuring and mixing, and the importance of kitchen safety. Chef Amy and Chef Maddie taught campers how to properly slice fruits and vegetables like peppers, onions, broccoli, celery and more. Campers also learned about a popular French culinary phrase, Mise en Place, which means ‘everything in it’s place.’

All week long, campers will learn how to make great food that will impress their family and friends.
