The Vetri Chef Academy

DSC_0174

Today in Vetri Chef Academy campers said ‘Bon Appetit’ to their parents and family as they showed off some of the cooking skills they have worked on all week. These mini chefs had a crazy week of food experiments and education. For five fun-filled days, campers experienced a world of hands-on culinary exploration with their fellow peers and experienced Vetri Chefs.

All week they covered fundamentals such as basic knife skills, how to read and follow a recipe, measuring, mixing, and the importance of kitchen safety. Best of all, they got to look at the scientific details of cooking: the importance of specific amounts of ingredients and cooking times, and more fun ideas such as how yeast reacts to sugar and warmth. Today campers showed off some homemade fruit tarts and healthy dessert granola as well as talking about the processes they’ve gone through this week.
