The past two weeks, fashion designers in Fashion Design: Inspiration and Creation have worked hard to create their very own fashion collections. They learned the basics about design, sketching and draping — which is the task of pinning fabric on a mannequin to establish the initial shape of the clothing.
Parents and family members gathered today to watch the camp fashion show and presentations of the collections. Each designer created an inspiration board with magazine clippings to inspire their brand. These creative brands ranged from ‘flowers’ to ‘sparkle’ to ‘Olympics’. In addition to individual collections, campers participated in group challenges. Their favorite challenge was the challenge to make clothing and accessories out of recyclables, campers came up with some pretty creative items of clothing!
