3D Design

What an amazing week we had in our brand new 3D Design and Printing camp.  This past week, campers learned all about designing 3D objects with CAD Google Sketchup, and then got to print out samples of some of their work with the ESF 3D Printer. To kick off camp, our campers designed a 3D name tag – the tags featured the camper’s names (or favorite word) and was completed with a pin back. The class also showed campers how to design fantastic dream-like 3D houses, and a third project had the kids design a city full of buildings, streets and skyscrapers. The capstone of the camp was for the kids to work on their very own 3D design. Creating a 3D prototype, the kids focused on designing jewelry, crafts, art, or something from their “3d-imagination”. At the end of week, the campers got to see their 3D prototype project come to life with the Makerbot 3D printer.
